Streamers, Streamers, and Streamers! - Sydney

As we have started to settle into our idea, we have made a lot of progress. We cut tons of streamers, we worked more on the octopus and the tentacles, as well as gluing streamers. For the rest of the week the streamers will most likely be our main focus, just because we have to cover the whole car in them. We have the driver's side about 3/4 done, and the trunk also has quite a bit done.
Caleb and North focused a lot on forming the octopus head in the morning. They used spray foam to transform the snowman's body into the octopus head. The spray foam needs to dry overnight, but once it is dry it will be sanded down to form the right shape. As of now it kind of looks like a giant white blob, but it will soon be an octopus head.
Izzie, Rene and I focused on the streamers and octopus tentacles today. We cut the streamers, glued them with Ms. Sloan and the boys in the afternoon, and we cut the suctions for the octopus tentacles. The suctions are made out of red pool noodles, and it is actually coming together quite nicely. (I am very excited)
Mid-morning today Ms. Sloan, Rene and North got the chance to drive the masterpiece-in-the-making to Party City for some more table cloths. Ms. Sloan came back and said she had never seen North so embarrassed. I guess the car was getting some stares. But after all, that is part of the point of this. We will be driving the car through an art car parade, and we want ours to attract attention. Right now it is kind of half white half blue/purple streamers, so the stares might be confusing. But make no mistake, once the car is done all of those stares will be good stares, and we cannot wait.
