Art Car 2023: Day 3

Friday, January 6: The first thing we did on Friday was make a quick trip to home depot to get some supplies for the day. We needed to go to home depot to get the paint matched for the car, paint brushes, paint rollers, and gold-colored paint. After home depot, we took a short drive to the Floral Supply Syndicate (which sounds kind of evil). The floral supply was actually a massive warehouse full of almost every possible thing you could ever need for crafts or art projects. There was a whole room dedicated to just ribbons and another one just for fake flowers. Then when we got back we got straight to painting the car pink. At first, we had a little freak out because the color we bought didn't exactly match the spray paint color we did the day before, but as it dried we realized it was perfect. It took us about an hour and half. We painted and then waited for coats to dry and then did more coats.

While waiting for the car to dry we took a picnic blanket and sat in the sun talking for a while. In between painting the car and waiting for it to dry, we painted the foam cakes we bought at the floral supply warehouse. All in all, it was a productive day and we made a lot of progress and had a great day. --Juliet, class of 2023
